5 Homemade Face Masks That Will Make Your Skin Glow!

Rejuvenate your skin with homemade face masks: give your skin some TLC with these amazing, natural face masks that you can make right at home!

During the day we are all exposed to pollutants and other particles that negatively affect our skin; UV rays, make-up, frowning – these are all factors that can make our skin look dull and older than it should. Face masks are a great way to cleanse your skin and make it smoother and healthier. There are plenty of great face masks by notable companies, but you can also make your own! With a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy homemade face masks that are all-natural and easy to make. So, get out your mixing bowl and start masking!

Cocoa, yogurt, and honey face mask

This mixture sounds delicious, and your skin will lap it up; honey is a natural antibacterial that cleanses the skin, so it is great for acne-prone skin. Also, it is an effective anti-oxidant and anti-agent natural product. Add in brightening yogurt and cocoa powder, and you get a wonderful mask. To make the mask, mix the following:

  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons natural yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Mix together until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

Homemade Face Masks

Turmeric, eggs, and dead-sea salt face mask

This nourishing face mask will instantly glow up your skin. Like honey, turmeric is a natural disinfectant that is used in many beauty products. Dead sea salt will provide your skin minerals, and the egg will pull out dirt from your skin. If you do not have dead-sea salt, try using kosher salt that acts as a natural peeler:

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric root
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Quarter spoon dead sea/kosher salt

Mix together until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

Banana and honey face mask

This all-natural and amazingly simple mask holds in it many advantages: it contains potassium, magnesium, vitamin C, B vitamins, and is chock-full of antioxidants. The result is a potent anti-aging mask that reverses time, and cleanses the skin of pollutants:

  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Mix together until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. To get even better results, add in a dash of olive oil or a bit of coconut oil (not recommended for oily skin).

Homemade Face Mask

Coconut oil, honey, and cane sugar face mask

This one is more of a peel than a mask; we put it on our list because cleaning dead skin cells is one of the best things that you can do for your skin. The peel encourages your skin to rejuvenate by scrubbing dead skin cells. Also, scrubbing your skin on occasion minimizes acne; bacteria on your skin thrive off dead skin cells. So, no cells – no bacteria:

  • 5 tablespoons organic coconut oil (on cold days, the oil will solidify. Put it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the oil)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar (you can use brown sugar instead)

Mix together in a bowl, scrub on your skin, and wash with warm water. You can use the peel in the shower: while you apply a hair mask, scrub your face, and wash it off with warm water and soap.

Avocado, yogurt, and cucumber face mask

If you have dry skin – this is the face mask for you. The avocado mask adds moisture to skin while providing it with a natural glow:

  • 1 third medium avocado, mashed
  • 2 teaspoons yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated

Mix together until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face, leave on for 20 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.

honey face mask

Lemon, honey, and milk face mask

This brightening face mask is perfect for those of you who want to even out your skin tone. Lemon contains Vitamin C and acids that brighten the skin, and the milk double the effect. By now you know that the honey cleanses the skin, so you will have clear, glowing, and even-toned skin.

  • 1 tablespoon milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon freshly-squeezed lemon juice

Mix together until you get a smooth paste. Apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes, and rinse off with cold water. Apply daily for quick and noticeable results.

Harnessing the power of nature

Like other skincare products, you need to be consistent with your face masks. To get the best results, use a mask at least 2 every week. You can try different masks to find out which one gives you the results that you want. Combine the face masks with your beauty routine, and don't forget to moisturize. Also, if you have sensitive skin – do not apply masks before you do a patch test; put on the mask on a small part of your skin to see how it reacts. If it does not irritate your skin, you can try it on your entire face.
